Up Coming MAPS Class:

Tuesday, September 7th – Tuesday, October 12th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Classes are offered on a sliding fee scale established by UCLA: $165, COVID rate; $200, regular rate; class is offered at no cost to students enrolled in the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center’s Training in Mindfulness program (TMF), or its Intensive Practice Program (IPP). Please also feel free to contact Valerie at for sliding fee scale if needed.

Each class is two hours in length, and will be offered online via the Zoom platform. Once students register, you’ll get a confirmation email and more details on the course content, which is also listed under the Mindfulness tab on this website. Each week you will receive a link to the class prior to the class meeting

It is very exciting to begin offering the Mindfulness Awareness Practices (MAPS 1) class: Mindfulness in Every Day Life. This is UCLA’s signature introductory mindfulness class from the Mindfulness Awareness Research Center. In addition to my year-long studies for the Training in Mindfulness Facilitation Program at MARC in 2018, I took a special additional training to teach the MAPS course. Hopefully this secular class will make mindfulness practice accessible to a broad range of people.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, comments, questions. And do not let cost be a prohibition to attending; sliding fee scale, scholarships and donation-basis are all available.

With warm regards, and looking forward to new practice opportunities!
